Changes to the PNS Calendar for 2025
Technical Planning would like to make you aware of some upcoming changes to our calendar due to host availability, limitations on competitions due to NCAA’s being at WKCAC in March, and changes with the USA swimming national calendar.
After you have determined your teams plan for March, 2025 please fill out this survey by Friday, January 3rd to help Technical planning with continued planning for these changes.
March 2025
· The Spring Age Group Invitational scheduled for March 1st and 2nd is canceled. Current hosts (CSC & C) will be hosting special meets this weekend. We highly recommend additional teams to consider putting together a meet for that weekend to help serve more swimmers within our LSC
· An Age Group Regional meet has been recently added in Boise, March 20th-23rd. This meet will use the same time standards as last year but will be limited to 600 total athletes. More information can be found here
· The Spring Showdown is cancelled and instead PNS will be adding a “Spring Finale” meet the weekend of March 29th/30th. These meets will be hosted by the current spring showdown hosts (SMAC, IST & TAC). The meets will have the following criteria:
o Timed Finals
o 3 sessions per day (11-12, 10 & under pentathlon, 13 & over)
o Time standards per event (even for the 10 & under pentathlon-no 8 & under 25’s). Time standards dependent on survey results and will be published by late January. (The hope is somewhere between gold/silver)
o Dequal for 15 & over swimmers of the Western Zone Senior Sectional time standards, no other dequal standards.
· TPC is also looking for additional hosts for the Spring Finale. Should we be able to secure additional hosts prior to setting the time standards, we will be able to include more swimmers participating in this finale of the short course season. JULY 2025
· Senior Champs/13-14 PN Long Course Champs Champs will now be July 17th-20th. Based on survey results, we will now be running the 13-14 with the Senior Champs meet. This meet will have a 3.5 day format. Due to the release of the USA swimming calendar, this meet will run a weekend earlier than previously released.
· 12 & Under PN Long Course Champs will now be July 24th-26th. This meet will now be just 12 & under swimmers which will help with our long timelines and allow for the standards to support athlete development. The survey results supported moving this meet up a weekend than previously released.
