5/6/22

Hello everyone! My name is Ella Jablonski, one of the athlete reps on the DEI committee. Recently, I had the opportunity to volunteer at a Special Olympics of Washington (SOWA) regional swim meet at KCAC. It was a great experience where I was able to interact with many of the athletes, as well as help out in the sport that I love and have been involved with for many years. I was made aware they were short on volunteers and are hoping to enlist more people to help out at their next meet at KCAC on June 18th. There will be 400 swimmers from across the state competing at this meet. I would love to spread the word about this event to other swimmers or people connected to PNS that could potentially volunteer for this important event and support our goals of Inclusion.  Please find more details below:

Congratulations to Abbey Nardella, Chinook, on her nomination to the U.S. PARALYMPIC team that competed in Lima,Peru,  August 23-September 1, 2019.  Swimming in the classification S6-SB6-SM6,  Abbey represented the U.S. and PNS well, winning bronze in the 100 breaststroke and placing in the top 8 in her other 5 events.  She set 2 personal best times in the 100 free and 100 backstroke setting the stage for a good 9 months of training going into the U.S PARALYMPIC trials and Tokyo 2020.
