The SPLASHForward Youth Ambassador Committee
Melissa Stiner
Hey high school athletes! Are you interested in using your voice to advocate for greater access to aquatics, new public pools, and water safety? We invite you to join the SPLASHForward Youth Ambassador Committee!
The SPLASHForward Youth Ambassador Committee’s goal is to cultivate youth ambassadors that bring student voices to SPLASHForward’s efforts and create opportunities for students to grow their advocacy skills through a wide variety of roles. Students will practice and develop their new skills by participating in public meetings, talking to community members at events, and organizing others to get engaged. With the support of SPLASHForward resources, the committee will also plan and execute SPLASHForward Youth Ambassador Workshops, which teach the core components of organizing, civic engagement, and leadership through the lens of aquatics and public-infrastructure advocacy.
We will be having our first meeting on Wednesday, November 13th at 4pm on Zoom. Please feel free to DM @pacificnorthwestswim or email Ellie Wang (ellieswang@gmail.com) if you have any questions!
